The best way to learn is to do it yourself, and receive help along the way.
Think up a game that you'd like to create, then start creating it. If you get stuck anywhere post a help topic on the forum.

I had questions after 10 minutes of starting, but that didn't stop me. Just be patient and everything will come naturally.

@ninga95 - He did ask, they just told him to ask questions when he needed help.

I also suggest looking through free-models, and just looking at how other scripters do what they need.

I got better by doing easy things and then slowly made harder scripts.

I've seen it used to direct a lightning bolt, I'm not exactly sure.

raycasting is like making an invisible line staring at a certain point and and ending at another, checking if anything is colliding with the line.

do you use bricks with findFirstChild()? or do you purely use skill in raycasting? and where do you learn this from?

Raycasting is when you shoot an imaginary ray (a line that starts at a point, and goes in one direction infinitely) down a path and see what intersects it, if anything.

I should learn how to do it :/
