Because of Lua's flexibility instead of

local a = B
local b = A

You can do

local a,b = B,A

Simple really.

You can also hold more than two variables. It works with as many as needed. Though, it may make your code a little messy, so be careful.

this is useful for multiple return values in functions. I.E

function double(a1,a2)
return a1*2,a2*2
end
a,b = double(1,2)
print(a)
print(b)
>2
>4
